Image of bookworm

Our bookworm logo is a slightly modified version of the original illustration prepared by Robert Hooke for his book," Micrographia or Some Physiological descriptions of Minute Bodies Made by Magnifying Glasses with Observations and Inquiries Thereupon " published in 1665 by the Royal Society of London. The bookworm reminds the authors of the vulnerability of books, not only from voracious insects, but also from the acid in the paper that is destroying our books and the data they contain; the books are moribund. With this in mind, every type of "bookworm" is becoming an endangered species. The bookworm also reminds us that we must endeavor and diligently search for still missing facts before the books, our source of hard data, vanish. That they will vanish, is a certainty! We hope that our readers will continue to remind us of our deficiencies in our examination of viable human anatomic variations.
