Based on a study of 115 specimens. Left series a through h: The frequency of various configurations of the inferior epigastric artery after dissection (a through d). The lower set (e through h) of figures shows the anastomoses, or absence thereof, as revealed by dissection. The right side shows the rectus muscle dissected to reveal the anastomoses between the superior and inferior epigastric arteries and the manner in which arteries tend to follow the tendinous inscriptions.
