a= The standard or textbook pattern of the deep palmer arch.
b, c, d= The arrangements dependent upon differences in ulnar supply.
e,f,g,h= The subgroups of patterns in which the deep palmer arterial arch is complete.
i,j= Derivative of the incomplete arch. Four types of complete deep arch were found (a to h) and two varieties of incomplete arch (I and h).
