Yazuta found the origin and frequency of the ascending cervical artery (solid black) to be as follows:
1: Inferior thyroid artery in 65.5% .
2: Thyrocervical trunk in 25.5%.
3: Transverse cervical in 4.0%.
4: Suprascapular in 2.5%.
5: Subclavian artery in 2.0%.
