"Diagrams to illustrate the various patterns of the endocranial branches of the middle meningeal artery. F, P, T and O indicate the frontal, parietal, temporal and occipital bones, respectively; and a, m, and p indicate anterior, middle and posterior branches, respectively. Type 1, pattern designated as type 1 in both Adachi and Giuffrida-Ruggeri's classifications. Type 2A, pattern designated as type 2 by Adachi and type 2A by Giuffrida-Ruggeri. Type 2B, pattern designated as type 2 by Adachi but as type 2B by Giuffrida-Ruggeri because of the low division. Type 3, pattern designated as type 1 by Adachi but designated as type 3 by Giuffricla-Ruggeri because of the low division of the artery into its terminal branches. Type 4, pattern designated as type 3 by Adachi and type 4 by Giuffrida-Ruggeri. "
