1, Superior sagittal sinus; 2, right straight sinus; 3, right transverse sinus; 4, left transverse sinus; 5, occipital sinus; 7 fibrous partition; 8, small anastomotic branch from superior sagittal sinus which empties into the right transverse sinus.
A: Confluens of the dural venous sinuses.
B: The superior sagittal ends in the right transverse sinus. The straight sinus empties into the left transverse sinus.
C: The superior sagittal sinus continues in large measure into the left transverse sinus. A small branch from the superior sagittal sinus empties into the right transverse sinus as does some of the drainage from the straight sinus.
