Note the rightgonadal artery (ga) arising from the aorta and coursing behind the inferior vena cava (V) (retrocaval right gonadal artery) and the left gonadal artery (ga) arising from an inferior renal polar artery. A bifurcating left superior polar artery arises from the aorta.
