"Fetus 9. On the right side, a small triangular ganglion is attached by its upper pole to the sympathetic trunk, and one of its other corners links with the vagus (arrow). Issuing from a distal intermediate ganglion (star), and from the cervicothoracic, are strong contributions to the cardiac plexus.

The left superior and middle sympathetic cardiac rami join before communicating with the recurrent laryngeal nerve.

Fetus 10. The most noteworthy feature of this specimen is the absence of communications between the Sympathetic trunks and neighboring nerves.
